Transportation
Weekly Challenge Feb. 23-Mar. 2

Planes, trains, and automobiles! There's also boats, roller skates, sneakers, skate boards, golf carts, scooters, bicycles...whatever people use to get around, ride in or on, and in any fashion....be it for daily use, for fun, or for sport (like the sample picture).

Please avoid small scale replicas, such as model cars etc...must be the real thing. This is such a broad category, so the real challenge here is creativity. In other words, don't just go out to your driveway and take a picture of your car.

Be sure to visit the Weekly Challenge Rules & Guidelines for more information. This thread will be closed on Mar. 2nd...so get those photos in!

The Rules

  1. Photos must be posted to the thread in order to be considered for the challenge.
  2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by you! Because not all EXIF data can be verified, we will use the honor system here.
  3. Challenges will be judged solely by the winner of the previous week. There will be no individual voting.
  4. Only one photo entry per member, for each challenge.

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Challenge, unless specifically noted by the site administrator. This is a member-run contest, and the purpose of the Weekly Challenge is to encourage member participation on the forums and to keep you taking pictures!

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited/straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Here's mine for this week. As usual, it took me a while to decide and still I'm not sure I took the right one but here it goes.

I don't know Carolina Photo Guy, being dragged feet first up a flight of stairs is not my idea of great transportation :)

Excellent idea!

End of the line

I'm going ahead and posting my entry for this week, there is another thread discussion involving this photo. I don't want anyone to think that I using other peoples advise for my final. Besides I'm not going to top this weeks photo for myself.

You guys make it so tough. I had thought about Planes, Trains and Automobiles but you all beat me to it. I even thought about getting a shot of people walking or running but Pete kinda did that with his book. Sometimes, however, inspiration jumps right out at you. I was driving up to Fredricksburg Va. yesterday and saw this and had to stop.
Every time I see one of these, it draws out lots of emotions. I'm hoping it will draw them out for all of you too.

It sure does! I am of the feeling that every tankful of fuel should be accompanied by a big, sloppy kiss.

If you're gonna get screwed anyway, you might as well be kissed!

What's worse. High gasoline prices, or lots of deep deep cold icy snow?

I'll take the gas prices. I can at least control my driving habits, to control my costs. With snow... I'm stuck with whatever falls. Thank God it doesn't fall a lot in Virginia.
