So I found out that the ens I ordered (separate from my 7100) does not come with a lens hood. Should I pick up a lens hood for it? Would it just be a 67mm hood?

Thanks :)

My 18-140 has a Nikon HB-32 lens hood. And yes, it's a 67mm. Whether or not any other would fit, I'm not absolutely sure, but I wouldn't see why any 67mm wouldn't fit.

The reason the lens hood needs to be specific for the length of the lens is that a hood for a 140mm can be quite long but a lens hood for a 18mm lens has to be short or it will get in the way and crop off the edges of the shot. So if you buy for just 67mm ring size you need to make sure it is for a short lens. I have a lens hood for my 11-16 zoom and it is so very short.

i got a 77mm hood and a several step up rings to use on various lens. The hood is rubber so i can adjust the length. I like it for shooting
at museums where there are a lot of reflections. At 18mm the hood folds back, i can press the hood against a display case and cut out the reflections. i robbed a hb-32 from another lens and it works ok on my 18-140mm lens. If i use flash at the short end i have to take off the hood or get a shadow.
