Tamzooka AF problems

I believe I am like many others in that I'm experiencing occasional and erratic AF failure on my big Tamron. Many times a simple power on and off fixes it. Other times it starts to work again by itself after a few seconds. The most recent occurrence lasted several minutes and several power cycles before working normally.

My questions to other owners/users are these. Does anyone know if Tamron are addressing this problem? Are my symptoms the same as others or do I have a singular faulty lens? Is there a fix, in other words, is it worth returning the lens under warranty to get a/the fix done? I really don't want to be without it for several weeks at this time of year when I use it most.

I really love this lens and can tolerate the frustration this AF problem causes if I must but, I really shouldn't have to.:apologetic:

Sounds like its the same as mine was, mine got worse it started as a infrequent irritation and ended up bloody frustrating,it was back with Tamron twice and both times they adjusted focus and the second time fitted a new motor,it was ok for a couple of thousand clicks then started again.
According to my dealer Tamron say there is no problem with the lens,in the end i just returned the lens and bought a D750:D doesn't really do the same thing though.

Mine did this a few times, not enough to be bothersome but it did happen.

If it gets to the point you can't stand it, sell it and get the Sigma. That's what I did. :)

One of the annoying things for me was after Tamrons second attempt the lens was just not as sharp, nothing to show for it as i had lost interest by then but here is a 100% crop before they messed with it.at this point i felt it had the edge on the Sigma.
