Folks
Is it true that the old lens is not good for FX bodies like 800E? I am planning to buy a used one and want to know your opinion on what to look for.

Also, is 70-200 f2.8 VRII good for FX lens?

Appreciate your help. Thanks

The Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRI is a nice solid lens that doesn’tsuffer a lot with focus breathing unlike the VRII. It is less sharper on thecorners and shows some vignetting on the corners when used with a FX camera.
The Nikon 70-200mm f2.8VRII has corrected the vignettingissue and corner softness but suffers focus breathing. It is more like a 135mmat minimum focusing distance. What Ilike about it aside from its superb optics is that I can shoot closer whenshooting indoors and with less space to work with. Some finds that as anegative.
