Zoom dilema for D5300

So my dilema is i want zoom lens and I can get 55-300mm nikon vr or tamron 70-300 VC for my d 5300. While nikon is cheaper around 170 £ tamron is about 215 £. I like small weight, but does tamron justifies bulkiness and stepper price? Nikon 70-300 is out of budget...

Can not test or see any of lenses, I am buying it online.

Nikkor is ~$300, so that's around the tamron, no? And yes, buy a good shape used piece and save that way.
Used in our country is same as new from England maybe 20 bucks less.

So basically I can have choice between 55-300 not so good, but lightweight and cheaper and tamron..
I saw review on YouTube saying that tamron is quite sharp and best VC around.

The Tamron may well be slightly bulkier because it is made for FX cameras as well. The 55-300 is only made for DX. You will be fine with the Nikon. However, if you plan on moving to a full frame camera in the future, i would invest in the Tamron.

The AF on the the Nikon 55-300 Is slower then on the Nikon and Tamron 70-300. For action shots it might matter to you...

I think I am going with tamron. A lot of people say nikon 70-300 is better then 55-300, and tamron is very close to 70-300. Like to shoot some birds cruising and action shots, so it's AF can be better.
It have manual override focus useful in low light when it can't lock.
Will report back when it arrive.
