Nikkor 300mm f 2 on eBay

A Rare Opportunity that I'll have to pass on at the moment.

I don't believe that these are offered for sale very often. I don't remember ever seeing one advertised as such before, and no wonder they are supposedly pretty rare.

Bill, it is a steep price for any lens, let-alone one that doesn't feature AF at all. While my house cost quite a bit more than this, I've yet to purchase a vehicle that cost this much.

I'm not sure since I've never seen one for sale before, at least that I can remember. According to some of the articles I've browsed, the original list price on this lens was over $29,000, and that was in 1981 dollars. Of course, that was for a new lens, not a used one.

Reported to be available by special order only (yeah!!!), this lens was produced from 1983 to 1985, with approximately 450 copies produced. Supposedly, nearly one-half, or more, of these were converted to motion picture camera mounts by film houses around the world.

Hey, Can you video this I really want to see the outcome of this or at least take a selfie with you head all swollen after you tell her.

Maybe it sold locally.

I'd rather have had the new 300 2.8 if I could have either.
