Nikkor 80-200/2.8.... my "new" portrait lens.

With my 80-400VR coming tomorrow, I had to decide what to do with my 2-ring 80-200.

Just as I was about to throw it in the garbage can, I thought, "What about using it as a portrait lens?"

I've decided to keep it.


This is ISO 6400.

That's exceptionally clean at 6400 ISO!

Ted, let me know the next lens you might think about tossing in to the garbage!

With some of the dumb things I buy, I should just throw the cash into the garbage and cut out the middleman. :dejection:

I'm guessing that you're kidding. The 80-200 and 70-200s are great portrait lenses. Good luck with the 80-400.

I hear this two ring a lot, can someone that has one take a picture of it. I have looked at them and when I hear two ring, I think of two gold rings.

Looking at getting a 2.8 in this range and started looking at these 80-200's, just want to make sure I am looking at the right ones.

That is just to distinguish it from the first version which was a push and pull type.
