Got my photo on the telly!

The TV news for our local area shows a viewers picture just before the weather forecast, sent this one in yesterday and it was broadcast tonight! Great feeling and surprised by how many people got in touch because they had seen it.

Our Austar used to put lots of viewer pics on their weather channel. Used to collect them via their Facebook page. They've since been taken over by Foxtel, and the whole deal has had a revamp and viewer pics are rarely shown. So I've stopped posting weather shots to the FB page, as have most of the others that used to post. It was nice seeing our pics on TV

Most news stations now have their own websites and facebook page. You can usually send photos to them that way.

Thanks Allan, that is one of the Oil Refineries near Immingham in North Lincolnshire. Where I am unfortunately sat in the control room working hard as a type ;(

I'm sorry that you have to actually do some work there and not just take pictures, but it looks like you get some great shots out of it anyway!

Most likely the public saw your first photo so they stopped sending in their own--who wants to compete with such beautiful photos?!!
