Probably in way over my head committing to this, but I'll give this a try! Really have enjoyed this forum as of late, this will be a good challenge for me!

Jdeg, Thank you for hosting this contest another year. I am looking forward to it in 2013. I only participated for the last couple months of 2012 and found it a motivator and also helped to improve my image quality...

Do photos have to be posted everyday? I would like to do this. However i am out at sea for up to 2 weeks at a time. S that would not be possible. Or could i just upload them when i get back in?

Same question. Not always around electricity, running water, or the internet for weeks at a time.

Like last year, as long as you take a photo a day, you can post multiples at a time. Just post what day/number the photo is for. ;)

You cannot, for example, take 5 photos on the same day and post them as different days if you were to miss 4 days.

Hmmmm. Seems my last post never made it. It is somewhere lost in the cyber ether.

My question was, for each photo, is there a maximum or recommended file size that we should not go over? TIA

Sorry for the redundancy, the msg just showed.

Jdeg, thanks for clarifying that, just so that we are all on the same page... (Thanks also for sponsoring this)

Thanks Jdeg for sponsoring this.

One little question. Does the photo have to be taken with a Nikon?

Just wondering, because I'm on a Disaster Medical Assistance Team, and if there's some sort of emergency (Think Hurricane Sandy, massive river floods, major earthquakes, Yellowstone's Caldera blows up, California finally falls off edge, etc.) I'm federally activated and get whisked away to parts unknown. The Nikon will not be travelling with me to disaster areas, as much as I would love to take it and document. I can't have it on my person at all times while working in those austere environments. Would hate to get it stolen, or worse.

Could my trusty Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone stand in for such trying times?

I could get it engraved with the Nikon logo if that would help.

Thanks! Hopefully I don't get deployed, I'm usually limited on the things I can take photos of... For good reasons.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

It's sort of already been asked, but, if I start now, I am missing a photo from day 4. I actually don't think I took a photo that day, not even on my phone.
Does that mean I can't really do it?

I have to give a thumbs up and shout out to the Project 365. I started Jan. 1 2012 and posted at least one pic a day for the entire year. Not only did I see my photography improve I also made great friends within the Nikonites community, ended up with having my photos in 3 gallery exhibitions in Los Angeles and got published in 2 online magazines.

What a great kick in the butt to keep trying to improve my images and consistency. I am now starting for 2013 and looking forward to meeting the new crop of P365 members that have come on board for 2013.

Hello everyone!!

I'm new here, first day on the forum actually, and came across this thread. I've known about 365 projects for some time but have never actually tried to do one.

Just got a D7000, moved up from a D40, and am excited to jump in.

It appears i might be a little late for this. What if i hadn't taken a picture everyday this week? Can I still get in on the contest?

Thanks!
-Zach
