Excited and looking forward to this challenge. This is my first time to ever be active in this forum much less take on 365 days of photography. Then again... my family may say differently. :-D

Great photo! I can't wait to see more from you!

Thanks NikonThom.

I've taken pictures for as long as I can remember but it's only been since recently that I've wanted to really embrace photography and learn how to improve my photos. I'm glad you liked this one. I'll do my best to keep your interest.

Wendy........very cool shots! I like! :) Specially that rose shot. Beautiful. :)

If you could fill out the rest of your profile, such as where you're from, gear you use, etc., it would really help us to help you if needed.

Keep up the nice work, and welcome to the forums. :)

Day 4

I tried to get out and get some more scenic view pictures but the darkness was rolling in and I was running out of time. Instead, I stopped by a near by park and captured these two friendly ducks. They would not stop for a pose (can you imagine..silly ducks) so the picture was hard to get focused. (Possibly because of the photographer..LOL) I thought their colors were neat to look at. I only have a compact camera (Nikon Coolpix S8100), nothing special but it takes good pictures most of the time.

fotojack,

I tried to update my profile as much as possible but no matter how many times I enter my camera information, it won't show up. I have a Nikon Coolpix S8100. I can't seem to find my camera anywhere here on the forum. It was new last year or maybe it was 2010 either way its fairly new. I know I am not the only one with this camera even though it is just a compact camera. Funny story, my husband had a SLR and while I loved the pictures it took I didn't like the big bulkiness. We got rid of it and got the compact camera. Little did I know just how much I would live to regret that decision. At the time the SLR was just too much for me to know what to do with. I never hear the end of it from my husband. Yes.. I have learned my lesson. I have my eyes on the new SLR... I can dream... I can dream. :)

hmmm.......this looks like a jdeg question. He handles all the site techie questions about profile problems. In the meantime, here's a life tip: hubbies are not ALWAYS wrong! ;) Hope to hear about your new DSLR soon! :) lol

OH..he never lets me hear the end of it. Every time he sees me eyeing the new camera he has to let me know of just how much he said I told you so. :-D Yes.. a life lesson learned the hard way.

Day 5
Some new food was on the menu today and I thought I'd give food pictures a shot. I tried taking food pictures before but my food setting on my camera frustrates me. They either come out really red or blue no matter how much I change the settings. Taking close up shots of food doesn't always turn out. Advice on food pics please. Meanwhile...
