I'm in Hawaii

For high school graduation my husband and I decided I would take her to Hawaii as our graduation gift. Of course I had to do some photography while there. I shot these through a darkened dirty helicopter canopy on a heavily overcast day with the pilot constantly moving around and yet they turned out beautifully after some clean up work. So here is my first round of pictures from our trip.

The other helicopter with the clear canopy that I did not fly on LOL. Can you see the heavy overcast clouds? It was heavy!

The lava is moving through and setting things on fire. Moab Man really loves these. Last one is his favorite.

This crater shot is a credit to Photoshop and Moab Man. With my seating position on the helo, the constant movement and never hovering, I shot this twice. First time I cut off the left and bottom side of the crater opening. Second time I cut off the right side. Moab Man was able to put the two together in Photoshop so I had my complete image I was trying so hard for.

The HEAVY overcast was a blessing for this shot. If it had been bright out I never would have been able to catch the inside of the crater so well.

Day 2 in Hawaii

We had a lazy day and I took my daughter down to the ocean. Granted, she didn't go in far, but it is the ocean. :)

The best part is that my daughter continues to be surprised that we own cameras and take pictures.

WHAT? YOU HAVE A CAMERA?

CAUTION: Pictures that follow are not from my D7100. Apparently, the D7100 is not for underwater photography so I left it at the hotel.

We went sailing that evening. What a beautiful pastel sunset.

Lovely shots... I am envious of the volcano shots, they are the ones I wanted when we went for our 25th wedding anniversary.. but the volcano wasnt doing its thing that week :(

Congrats on your daughter finishing school.

That is such a beautiful shot. I wish there was some way that it could be seen at it's full resolution since so much is lost in jpeg/web compression. Unfortunately, most monitors won't accommodate a six foot image LOL.

Got back late after a long day so I have just the one photo I'm getting put up. My daughter went out on the cliff so I could take a picture and by sheer luck this wave exploded up the just one time and I caught it. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
