They are cool looking and great for snow/sand. But, from the people I talk to riding them, a bear to ride any distance and worse uphill.

All the bike shops here are selling them now - apparently for sand, beaches etc. But as [MENTION=11881]Moab Man[/MENTION] says, would be a bitch climbing a hill....

As usual, great images...first time I have ever seen a bike like that. Looks like they have fun and are enjoying themselves! Thanks for posting. Gotta love 1.8 lens'.

For as much as I crash on my mountain bike, I would not want to end up on the underside of that beast. I imagine it would be like having a small motorcycle come down on you.

Fat tire! As was said, they're for riding on sand, snow, etc. Like everyone else, what I see is a major workout in just getting the thing moving.
