Well here it goes. It's time to make an attempt at documenting our journey throughout the seasons. Dad and i live an exciting nature filled life with lots of different activities. Between here on Stockton Lake and our little farm it's really all we could hope for in terms of enjoyment. These are special times to capture. It really has been a long time coming for me and photography. 15 years is quite a while, and i'm very glad to be back. Life has a way of taking lots of twists and turns, but always knew this would come back around.
This will be a good way for us to share with others and have another form of backup for some of our memories. Feel a little shy about doing it but hopefully that will go away.

The first day with the camera i walked out the door and shot my dog. He is very photogenic.

It's been almost two weeks now with the camera and so far i'm really enjoying it. No shortage of landscape shots here on the lake. Been getting up early to catch some sunrises.
My first "selfie" sort of. :)

I'd be a fool not to take advantage of the scenery here so be prepared for LOTS of sunrise / sunset photos.

You're off to a good start. Looking forward to seeing lots more.
Thank You Marilynne. I'm sure some of the newness will wear off but i hope not much. :)

Looking forward to some rain followed by a little sunshine so i can shoot this scene again.

Got up on the roof this morning. Looking forward to some brilliant sky from up here and got some ideas on composition.
Question though, is there a free program that can do layering? Would like to get everything in focus if i could. All i have right now is ViewNX-2.

Took Dad to the VA for some routine appointments yesterday. There is a small park below the facility so naturally i took the camera.....and Bubby. Instead of sticking with the 18-140, i decided to get some mileage on my old sigma 28-70 ex 2.8 lens. It's "OK", but i don't believe it's as good as the 18-140. Was hoping the opposite but when cropped i can tell who the winner is. Anyhoo, i still love the depth of field of this lens.
