This is NOT an entry into the Project 365. It is simply my photography over the course of this year. Please give feedback and thoughts, positive or negative. My intention is to make every photo a photo I can be proud of.

I love historic 25th Street in Ogden, Utah. It dates back to the pioneer and stagecoach days. This is the Lucky Slice Pizza shop in what used to be a general store at one time.

These are not about taking great photos, but the fun I had with my wife. The overcast was heavy and dark, haze in the air (combination of fog and pollution trapped in the valley between mountain ranges), and just one of those days where nothing has any color or contrast. However, fun was still had and that's what these are.

No idea what kind of bird this is, but it was my best shot of the day under the conditions. Normally this would go in the delete file.

Here is my long absent from photography wife - Moab Lady.
DSC_3543.jpg

Here she is striking her, "I'm AMAZING!" pose.

And a cute little duck like bird with huge feet. Again, no idea what this is.

Finally, a walking shadow. I just found this one funny because as she walked in her black apparel under the dreary lighting there were no features. She looked like a walking black cutout or maybe a big foot.

It was great to have my wife out shooting with me again. Notice wifey, I said shooting with me and not at me... with a camera for clarification.

See Mike I knew it would not take him long to get on my bad side. Now he will be grounded from his camera from now until next Saturday. You should not post silly pictures of your wife or call me big foot. hehe LOL

We all know the truth about the way he treats you.

You know my rules, no posting birds without at least taking a stab at identifying them. You managed to identify Moab Lady just fine, why not these?!

Top is a little tough from the photo, and I was originally thinking Swainson's Hawk, but it's the wrong time of year for them (they migrate south), so I'm going with some light variant of a Ferruginous Hawk based on the head and the leading white edge on the lower wing.

Bottom is an American Coot. You can make your own jokes. ;)

The wife and I, being master bird people, incorrectly guessed it to be an Osprey. It was obvious when we got home that we were so close we could have called it a tweety bird and been just as accurate. :)

Don't want to break the Hippie Rules!

After way more research than it took to make the 40 mile round trip to where this photo was taken... I have identified this bird as a Dark-eyed Oregon Junco. Skittish little buggers.
