I've decided to start posting my choice of the day pics. I might not do one every day, but I should be able to post at least one a week.

Today's is one shot part of my piano people book.

Feel free to give me your feedback.

Overall, I like this shot. The lady is sharply focused, and I like the softer focus of the background. Nicely done. The one thing I would have changed is the angle of the shot and eliminated the window in the top right corner. Distracts from an otherwise great shot.

Thanks Jen, the expression and the light I like.
Jack, I did crop the window but there was no way I could have avoided it without loosing the light on her face. And I didn't want to move that piano either.

Marcel, I love the composition. The light is perfect on her face, and her look is perfect. The whites of her eyes kind of balance out the window. Very nice portrait!

Here's today's shot. Well, I have 2 so it will be up to me to make the final selection when this goes to print.
I only shot 4 pictures. I try to make it as easy for my customers since I'm not in their home to take their pictures to start with. Some are harder to convince than others.
I'm doing this more as an archive kind of thing.
So enough talk, let's see the goods;

They are great photos, great lighting. I also like the placement of your signature. Clever :) What lens did you use?

I used the 16-35 f4. It's almost a prime zoom I think but very nice. I should be using a flash for fill-in, but it would take a little too much time for setup and test before the actual shoot takes place.
I try to have my thing done in 10-15 minutes max, this way I'm not an inconvenience for my customers.
Thanks for the comments,

Marcel

Well, I must be really tired tonight. I spent 30 minutes looking for the signature! I agree with Jen that it's clever, Marcel.

Very nice, both great pictures, I like your granddaughter's eye and how you can see the curvature of it, great profile shot.

Both of the shots are excellent. The background blur is just right to make her stand out (pianist), and composition is very effective. Of all the piano people shots, this is my favorite.

Your granddaughter is precious. Beautiful shot . . . great sharp focus on the eye!

Well, here are my weekends picks. They have nothing to do with work. I'll post then in my gallery too just so I don't have to copy and paste the exif infos.
First this little lamb that I shot inside the barn with terrible light but I managed to save it thanks to RAW editor.

Close-ups or the horse's feet (I guess since I don't know the english terminology for that)

My favourite shot of all in this group.

All these were taken with my 18-200 VR.

Seems like that 18-200 is workin' for ya, Marcel. :)

Thanks for your thoughts Jack and the translation. I was just too tired and lazy to get the Webster out last night.
