Day 1 - Robin

Continuing to play around with the Tamron 200-500mm lens and I am falling in love. Definitely takes a new set of skills working such a large zoom, but the ability to bring things in is amazing.

No crop - trimmed the extra from the sides, ~20 feet, f/6.3, 1/800, 450mm (675mm due to DX camera crop), ISO 200

With this lens the best shots come out when you follow the shutter speed relative to focal length rule. Otherwise, due to the huge zoom, ANY movement is exaggerated even when on a tripod. That's what necessitated using ISO 200 in a relatively bright lighting condition.

I really like how the color of the robin's breast is complemented by the background! :) Amazing detail--awesome photo!

nice - 99% of the robins around here have left town. Cropped? Distance shot?

Ours left in August but returned before Thanksgiving this year! Last year they showed up between Christmas and New Years. Their internal clocks must need to be reset! ;)

The shot is of the robin is a great shot. I know you are wanting that lens. But remember, I wanted that lens first. So you are out luck. Unless, you do some real quick and fast talking. Otherwise, you will be financing my 365 project and not the other way around. I financed your 365 project last year. It is my turn. Turnabout is fair play.

She doesn't play nice. She's always using the, "You have to, I'm a girl blah blah blah." Then I lose.

I don't know why you would believe him. This is coming from a guy who got over $5000 of new equipment last year. I think he made out pretty darn well. Ofcourse, some of that money was supposedly spent on me, like my 60 mm macro lens. That I have not since the first day I had it. It has been in his camera bag. I think I actually got to take two pictures with that lens. He is such a turd. But he is a turd that I love.
