Aperture sharpness 105mm 2.8

Same again with my 105mm 2.8. Same procedures as last time. (It's so much easier to open 13 RAW files from my D800 since I quadrupled the RAM in my PC.) 7 to 11 is the magic zone (though I suspect camera shake at f9).

Relican FoCal Pro will run tests and tell you what the sharpest aperture is. Gives you and nice graph to show you.

I do have FoCal, but it never really impressed me. I still have to change all the settings manually for fine-tuning auto focus, for example. The only thing learned from my recent experiment is generally keep it between 5.6 and 11 for the sharpest photos, no matter the lens. :) Of course, you have to go down to 2.8 if you want that creamy bokeh.
