Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8

I just picked up an old E Series 50 mm f/1.8 prime lens. I have heard lots of good things about it so I took a chance and ordered one. Can anyone share their firsthand experience using this lens?

For 5 or six years that was my primary lens used with my Nikon Fg. Was very sharp and always gave me good results. It should do quite well on your 7100. Being manual focus you will have to take more time getting your subject in exact focus but should do well on static subjects.

It's pretty much on par with my 50/1.8 AF-D and my 50/1.8 AF-S G.

It's part of my manual focus film kit, and I'll toss it on the DSLR when size and weight are of paramount concern.

I had on of these 50s that I used for a while. In terms of image results, it was as good as any of my other 50s. I sold it along with several other excess 50 mm lenses.
