I've sold the 50mm F1.8

I've sold the 50mm f18D lens, got it last year for £60 (Ebay), and sold it to a friend for the same price.

I've been using 18mm to 30mm on a lot of shots lately for landscape and HDR.

Not quite sure what lens I want next, but will save up a little to get some good glass, I have seen a few on here have the sigma 17-50mm f2.8,
or the sigma 17-70mm.

Any recommendations, looking to spend up to £500

I couldn't image being without my 50/1.8 as it is so versatile, not to mention sharp.

But, the Tokina 11-16 is also a very fine lens. For DX the Tokina 12-24/4 is my favorite.

If I was buying, the new Tokina 12-28/4 would be my choice. For landscapes, the 2.8 isn't used much, and the 12mm on the long end can be very handy.

I've recently got the sigma 17-70 contemporary and I like it a lot. Noticeably sharper than the kit lens, great colour reproduction and fast, quiet focus. For me the extra reach and closer focus distance outweighed the small drop in aperture at the longer end over the 17-50 and besides, can just bump the ISO up a little to make up if I ever need that little extra stop

Thanks for the suggestions,

will take me a couple of months to get the money together, so it will give me chance to look around for the best price.

I've had the Tamron 17-50 and felt the lens shoots way too soft. I never tried to get another because of it. I have shot the Nikon 12-24 and Tokina 11-16, and would go with the Tokina for the price, great lenses... However I rarely find myself needing to go that wide.
