A few beginner shots with my first Nikon D5300 + 35mm

Took these shots in Dec 2014 about a week after getting my first DSLR and 35mm prime. All shot RAW. Will spend all of 2015 practicing with this lens to improve my eye and combined use with the DSLR technology. It was all a bit overwhelming (lots of buttons on that camera!) compared to the old point and shoot.

Really love the two rail-related shots in particular.
