Photo Collage

If this is the wrong place to post this then I am sorry.

I have been tasked with take a bunch of pictures from a company event and making them into a simple photo collage. I would like to do this as automated as possible but I also want it to be software on a computer not uploading them to a website. Does anyone have any suggestions on a program fro this task. I know I could take each picture and carefully arrange it in Photoshop or something else I am looking to more automate that part on possibly a template where I just tell it what pictures I want in it and it will weave them together to fit a shape.

I'm not sure what @nikonpup uses, but he does quite a bit of collage arrangements. I'm not sure if there is any software to do what you are asking. Most are probably doing it with PS or GIMP arranging a photo at a time.

I can't help you much more than that. Ha! I've only done a few and I used GIMP, one photo at a time. I'm sure there are others who will chime in soon and give you some feedback/recommendations.

I haven't used Photoshop Elements for a while, but I thought they had collage templates; however, I could be mistaken.

Initially when creating collages in Photoshop, it can appear to be an arduous task, but once you understand the basics, it isn't that difficult at all. Here are a few I made from scratch (no templates). I made several very similar to the first one, but it got boring having the same type of style.

Gimp has a plug-in called Pandora--http://registry.gimp.org/node/27910

I used it once and it worked O.K. But I prefer simply opening my photos in layers and moving them to line up. You can always edit out any blemishes with the clone tool, etc.
