KelbyOne and Onone software (with Matt Kloskowski) are both having a special live presentation all day on Tuesday. Rumors are that it if for the rollout of Lightroom 6.

Anyone heard what some of the new features are going to be?

I'm signed up for the Kelby event, but didn't even correlate that it could be the LightRoom 6 release. This release has been more anticipated than and iPhone release...I just hope I can do upgrades without needing to download the entire 1.5GB installer each time!

two new features that sound intriguing are panoramic stitching, and HDR merging of multiple images

It aslo sounds like it'll be pure 64-bit, and dropping the 32-bit stuff

Quite a lot of rumors but then it got quiet. Here are some of the best I've seen.

Lightroom 6 To Hit Tomorrow?

Nikon Rumors seem to think this is happening, and KelbyOne is doing a series of webcasts with their LR guy tomorrow afternoon, so I would say it's probably happening.

For those of you with CC, if you're expecting to try it out them I'd go through and do a backup of your catalogs today along with your libraries so you're ready.

I'm going to guess that they're releasing Lightroom CC (Creative Cloud) and stand-alone Lightroom 6 both... but the CC version will be integrated with the cloud storage features of the iPad and other mobile versions.

[I'm awesome at predicting the future, btw.]

I'd heard they were making Lightroom CC (Creative Cloud) ONLY for the new release. Are you sure about a new stand-alone Lightroom? That would surprise me...

Can't say anyone is sure until the official announcement is made, but I've heard the rumor as well that Adobe has heard enough backlash from people not interested in signing up for CC that there would be a standalone version. Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow!

This is going to upset a lot of folks.
Seems strange that they are showing Lightroom 6 as a standalone option but say it doesn't have the new features ?

I'm glad I booted all Adobe-ware. It's this kind of crap that will drive more and more to greener pastures.

What do you use now for editing.

RAWTherapee. Not an all-rounder like LR but better at the things it does. LR is doing too much to be (as) good at everything.

Try it; it's free and once you get the hang of it, you'll enjoy the level of control you got.

Will download it at weekend when I have little more time, and try it out, thank you.

It doesn't have the new MOBILE features/updates unless you're a CC customer. The other new features/updates are part of LR 6, though.

To me (and it's not for everyone), $10/mo for full access to LR and PS (not to mention Bridge) is well worth the cost. Never an upgrade fee, yet always updated, and I'm STILL 6 years of use away from just the cost of PS CS6 as a standalone product. (betting it's updated again, a couple of times, by then too!)

The difference is that you are paying for a service while some prefer paying for a product.

But whatever makes one happy.
