My portrait shots went up a notch today

I have been working really hard at my portrait shots and today I had an amazing shoot.
A bit of a story behind this particular model who I told (in a nice way) that I don't like her model smile.
I emphasised over and over that she has a lovely mouth and in the end I captured a lot of wonderful photos of her.
This is the first one processed.

That is a very bold statement, But I agree. After you mention it that is the first thing I see.

Overall though it is a great portrait.

That's the key right there. I haven't noticed it until you mentioned, that you noticed it after the Fish said something. Now I'm going to make a separate post to compliment @Lawrence on the wonderful shot.

Wonderful shot! I wouldn't change a thing. You are becoming quite the portrait photog.

Beautiful shot, you really did up your game. In addition to Fish's wristband, I would love to see a bit of catch-light in the eyes. It looks like it might be there but I would make it a bit stronger to give that twinkle in her eyes.

Great work!

Now I'm starting to feel a little confused and I'm wondering if I've somehow offended with my opening comment.

I didn't mean to be anything but supportive of the shot and the effort behind it.

No, you made an observation on what was distracting to you in the shot. Perfectly fine . That is how we learn
I was just wondering that if you didn't say anything would it be so distracting to the rest of us or not?

The first thing that drew me to the shot was the overall color (Post processing) and then her eyes. I honestly didn't notice the wristband at first, then again I'm not a portrait tog so I'm not trained to look for things like that.

Thanks guys.
I hadn't noticed the band either until my neighbour pointed it out and now it is all I see.
I guess the trick is to look at the shot and spot these things in viewfinder.
Oh well I have some cloning to do.

I never thought of catchlights in the eyes - simply because the sun is behind her.
I'll put some more photos of her up on here today

Your post in NO WAY seemed offensive and to me was exactly as you intended. I just called it your wristband because you called it before I did.

The second in the series.
Can you tell I have learned a little bit (and I mean teeny weeny bit) about gradient maps?
I do this sort of thing when I learn new stuff - go a bit overboard and this may be a bit too brown/straw colored.
I will probably step back and view later and make any adjustments if I think this is the case.
