First proper portrait shoot

Hi Folks, I agreed to help a work colleque with indoor photography and used her as the subject to show that you don't need to use flash, that in post you can still get good results even at ISO6400!! Here are a few from the shoot.

The shots at 400 ISO are better in my estimation. I too, am a strong proponent of natural light, but would rather keep ISO under 1000 by use of reflectors and positioning of subject to make the best use of natural light sources.

I was playing with some portrait correction software and made this. Hope you don't mind; I just wanted to see what the software could do, and it looks pretty good for 9 minutes work. Added catchlights to the eyes, too.

You did a great job, and had a great model.

I occasionally use that trick. In PS, I copy the layer, dodge the lighter parts of the eyes and then lower the opacity and mix it with the original.

You can even use it to correct errors. I got a dog photo in some other thread that had not enough focus and with this trick, at first sight you don't notice its eyes lack sharpness.
