A member of our club has a Nikon lens with what she describes as a "small split" in the barrel which is slowly getting larger. Apparently, it does not affect the lens i q but she wants to get it fixed. Can any of our Canadian members suggest where she might best achieve this here in Canada?

FWIW, I dropped the camera with a 12-24mm lens (it has been 7 years ago), and crunched the filter threads. Nikon USA replaced the lens barrel to fix it. Invoice said they replaced lens barrel, filter ring, zooming ring, roller guide ring, and assorted checking and cleaning. That cost was $200 US, including shipping and tax. I had a home owner rider on the camera, which reimbursed it..

suggest calling "nikon canada" for service. Depending on lens it may be cheaper to buy a replacement used/refurbished. Here in usa nikon is becoming the only service agency for its equipment.
