For some reason my cameras are reading different exposures with the same settings.

Looks the same to me.

On the D600 you have the minus going left whereas on the D7000 the minus is to the right.

or am i missing something?

Your right! But my question is why is the exposure negative on one an positive on the other with the same lens mounted. ISO-1600 F-stop 3.5 Shutter 100 Exposure 0.0.

I'm with you on this one Lawrence well spotted. You must have been good at those spot the difference games when you were little.

I feel so dumb, I never even looked. Your a genius. Assuming negative is on the left side. I have rocks for brains. Thanks for replies.

Why is a great question that only Nikon could answer. Same thing with the + and - buttons in the back that have been switched. But, you know that you could reverse the +&- in the viewfinder. I don't exactly remember the menu number, but if you look under the menu (f-9) you can reverse the indicator on the 7000.

YES ! It's always nice to see the original poster follow through. Not all of them do so Thanks for doing right.

One thing to be aware of, depending on the metering mode, the larger view available to the FX sensor could result in a different meter reading. For spot metering they should be the same.
