Promo that's not really promoting?

My analogy would be this- Nightclubs go under promo to not have to worry about scouting talent and promos link with clubs not to worry about looking for a venue, right? So if your promo is basically saying, "we'll give you a chance to meet talent, but you got to book them yourself," all the while your work is benefiting the promo directly, the fark is the point?? Extra bits of occasional work are again, unpaid, because events they want me to cover are by talent under their wing and gawd forbid I charge for that extra work....

Kind of at that point where my 3-month-old Thursday nights still aren't producing any promised results, and of the ones they DID do, I see very little benefit from. Don't really have a grand old better plan, but working with these guys is starting to feel old since I could be out doing at the very least more fun and equally as unproductive things Thursday nights.

I understand they're still new and unwinding, but that's no excuse to part-shaft me on extra events and such.

Gut says to stick it out til end of August and if I still see no results, say screw it. What do you guys think?

Maybe a better question is "How much longer can I afford to pay these guys to let me work for them?" From what I make of your description of the situation, this is what is happening.

I'm not really losing anything but 3 hours on Thursday nights. If anything saving money from not going to parties and drinking bars dry.
