Opinions on my website please ?

I would like some honest opinions on my website but not from a photographers perspective but as if you were a customer.

Pretend for a moment you are a customer looking for a wedding photographer and you came across my website - Would you book me and if not why not ?

I have not had any bad feedback from customers and I do have/had bookings but with the beginning of a new year I just want to make sure I am doing it right

I like the pictures that you've made and the website in general. The only thing I'd might like to see if I was a customer is a picture of you and your wife maybe in the title or in the bottom of the site so future customers would see what you look like. It might inspire them to actually see who they'd invite to their wedding.

Best of luck attracting them.

On my iPhone the website looks good. Just here in Thailand the loading time is a bit long. great photos on your site

Thank you - that is very useful information to hear, I have used some online iphone simulator to try and make sure it loads OK but I have never had anyone actually confirm that is does work OK on an actual iphone - very much appreciate that and thank you for the comments.

This might sound daft, but having had a son married a couple of years ago you seem to be well below the prices he was quoted ( £1500 min £3500 max ) and some people see this as you are "not a professional". He was married in the south of England so I do not know the prices where you are. I would check out the opposition. With regard to the site and photos I can see nothing wrong with it.

Thank you - Yeah I did used to have lower prices but increased them last year and you are right bookings actually increased when I increased them so looks like people were suspicious of the lower prices

The prices in the south of England are generally higher than the north (for anything) so my prices are around the right price for here (North East)

The photo is nice but I have to agree with Marcel. A more professional shot would look better.

Overall the site looks great. I would hire you to shoot my wedding. Of course we will have to go back in time 40 years.

Looking at it again Marcel you are right it does look a little like a phone selfie, it was in fact a selfie just with my small camera not a phone :D

I respectfully disagree with Marcel on the point that you need to have a photo of you on your site, im a believer that your work will speak for itself, people are hiring you on the work you can create and not how you look, you could be 6 foot 4 and the hunch back of Notredame but if you can get the great moments they want then what does that matter ... Again just my opinion, I dont have a pic of me and my business partner on my site )

If I were to hire the best photographer in the world to shoot my wedding and her/she showed up at my wedding looking like a homeless bum I would be very upset. Looks are important no matter what anyone would like to believe or say.

A professional look is important when you go to a job and that should be reflected in the way you present yourself online.

I do think I should have my photo on my site (like I do) I think its important for people to see who you are and what you look like as shallow as it is I think it gives people a little bit of confidence in hiring you.

I just need to sort out a better photo

Yeah I am going to change it. It was a selfie we took as we went for a walk in the snow.

See this is the reason I asked on here to get some unbiased good advice like I have got about that photo. I would never have know anything was wrong with it if I had not asked - thanks :)

My only gripe with the website - and, I know, I'm a luddite on this and no one else agrees with me, is that it requires my browser to be wider than I usually keep it, so I get side scrolling, in particular the text on the home page. Everyone else in the world apparently browses with the window open full screen, but I usually have several windows open and flip back and forth, so a 'wide' website is kind of annoying to me.
