I'm aiming to improve my social marketing for my photography business & need to set up a Facebook page.

There are several options with no advice or information as to which option is most suited. Could anyone advise?

Facebook create a page:
Local Business or Place
Company, Organisation or Institution
Brand or product
Artists, Band or Public Figure
Entertainment
Cause or Community

I did one for my daughter. I did "local business or Place". You have to kick in a few dollars to get much exposure but it's fairly inexpensive once you get a few people to join your page.

You can post a special and you may reach 45 people. Pay $5.00 to boost your post and you might reach 200-800. (they offer you some much higher options and you would reach more people but is it going to benefit you if you reach people 4 states away)?

Use: Local Business or Place

Do NOT pay for 'boost', proven to be a waste of hard earned money. Promote the site via your personal facebook page and through social media.
Helps to have a link to your facebook page from your web site as well.

If looking for the right category, there is a People:photographer setting.

Thanks, but I only see these options:

It's just whatever you want to be categorized as and have show up under the username on the page. You are supposed to choose a category that is appropriate for what the page is about. If the page is about you, the photographer, then I would think Photographer would be fine.

Thanks

It's about the photography business. I tried to find a guide on which page type does what, but have had no luck so far.

I may be wrong, but I think the only purpose here is categorizing the page. Don't think it will have a impact on how the page works.
