Nice. What's the rough breakdown of working with publications? Sending samples and applications or finding a scoop and being the first one to nail it?

This is Benjamin Kanarek's PR team. We can't come to the forum right now, we're busy making the exact same post on 20 other photography forums. Please leave a message after the beep.

Beep.

Since you actually replied back, let me ask a question:

You know that all of this cross-forum posting is for nothing, right? It does nothing to boost your exposure, build links to your site, or help your SEO. If anything, it's hurting it. Links here (and on most other forums) have the HTML link attribute rel=nofollow. Which means the Google Gods aren't going to smile upon you for spamming this crap all over the internet.

You do zero to engage any of the communities where this stuff is posted. What is your goal, aside from a failed attempt to build links?

What is your problem? If you don't like my work or posts don't read them. Go out and take some photos. You'll feel better and release some of your pent up frustrations. Then come back with your results and then we can have a chat...

I always get commissioned by the magazines to develop the theme. Shoots never commence without the engagement of the Fashion Director and Editor in Chief.

I already told you what my problem is. You post the exact same cut-and-paste posts on multiple photography forums and have zero engagement with any of the communities. In other words, you're barely a cut above the run of the mill spammer who posts links to porn sites. You are an accomplished fashion photographer. We get it. But what you're doing with all this spam goes against everything a forum is supposed to be about. If you really want to impress someone, stop and take time to field some questions. Post tutorials. Engage the community.

No one gives a crap about your latest shoot for Small Boobs Magazine.

Small Boobs Magazine.

Now that you mention it, I just flipped through some of my wife's fashion magazines, and small boobs seem to be in fashion now days.

BTW. If someone is going to use the forum for advertisements, should be at least a contributing member. You know, cough up 10 bucks once in a while to support this great forum.

Just my humble opinion.

Ok, this is enough. I agree with both of you.
Benjamin Kanarek You really do need to stick around and interact with the other members of the forum. Look at their post and comment on them. You are a good photographer and I am sure that others could benefit from your expertise. Posting just your Magazine photos just seems like you are bragging and only care about yourself. Not what this forum is about. If this is all you care about then that is OK.

Browncoat Your posts are mean spirited and really don't do any good and also do not represent the views of this forum. IF you do not like someones posts then you can block that member and you will never see them again.

Now both of you can get pissed off at me instead of each other. Now play nice.

Frankly, Don, this issue should've been nipped in the bud long before now by the mod staff.

This guy has had his posts/threads removed before, and probably should have just outright been banned for spam. I'm not sure if someone is just afraid to pull the trigger because the account is a "known" photographer or what the deal is. Regardless, it's more of a reflection on you guys than anything else. It's pretty obvious what's been going on, and has been since day one.

The same exact posts appear across several photography forums. It's textbook spam, plain and simple.

If anyone has an questions regarding my profession or a specific image, feel free to ask. Wow...nobody has anything to ask me regarding this highly challenging profession, other than those who have very little to do in their lives but to besmirch the reputation of those actually making a living from their craft...Hmmmm, interesting indeed... ;)

Can't wait to see what happens when I post my next half a dozen or so magazine shoots...

Hmmm.. I'd like to know as well.
I do agree with what Browncoat has stated in multiple threads that there is perhaps not a person, but the team working in posting in forums.
I work in Digital Marketing & i advice clients to do this to improve visibility..bla .. bla.. bla..

If someone is not active in the community by involving themselves in other's threads, is that reason enough for a ban?
Or are we missing something else here?

I have lately been looking up at fashion & glamour photography as i intend to get started and there is not too much of it on here.
Even if we don't have too many discussions (yet), it is still an opportunity to learn..
if it is just the posing or the background or whatever.

And i have noticed one other excellent photographer, hasn't posted here in quite a while, (though he used to be very regular & very helpful).
seemed like some questions miffed him and he left.

The answer is simple: SPAM. I've checked the other forums where he usually spams his crap and they all have the same brand new post within the last day or two: [h=1]“From Paris with Love” with Christopher Michaut and Eva Doll for STYLE Magazine[/h]
It's reasonable to assume, given his history, that he spammed the same junk here and he finally got banned for it. Spamming is a violation of the forum rules, plain and simple.

I'll still argue that it was never actually him posting, rather a PR firm or possibly an assistant. There are a lot of photogs far more famous than this guy who post regularly to their own blogs/sites, and a few do participate in forums on occasion. But there are exactly zero photogs that I know of who spam the exact same posts across several forums like this guy (or his team) does. It's tacky and unprofessional.

At any rate, well done mods.
