I am starting a new venture, with a website that focuses on digital street photography. This project has been in the planning stages for months, and I am at a point where I want to begin looking for contributing authors. The site is currently live, though still in its infancy, and I am not ready to begin promoting it yet. A brief mission statement:

...a glimpse into street photography’s historic past, diverse present, and ever-changing future. Our mission is to explore all aspects of visual culture through shared experience and education.

One of the unique features of the site is using images from street photographers under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. Non-author images on the site are credited to their creator, and at the bottom of the articles is a #streettog section that lists their name and links to samples of their work can be found online (Flickr, G+, etc). One of my goals is to offer additional exposure to street photographers who aren't household names.

I am looking to add authors who are active street shooters who can write articles pertaining to:

  • Gear reviews
  • Editorials and opinions
  • Photo essays
  • Cultural impact (Detroit housing for example)
  • Guides/how-tos

This site is a stark answer to the growing number of lame photography sites on the internet that mostly aggregate (copy) stories and create catchy headlines to accompany poorly written articles. I am not looking to "scoop" anyone with late-breaking stories, but pertinent articles on social issues (like the Toledo water shortage) will always be welcome and give top priority.

Interested contributors can send me a PM here on Nikonites.
