Race Horse Training

Ok took this today as I was nearby. Had to lean over a hedge to get the shot on a bend and is my first real action shot. I cropped this from the original to get this shot.

You placed yourself in the best position for horse racing, right at the front of a curve, because here is where you will always get the best action shots. It gives you that 3/4 view whereas other places on the track you only get the side or front view. Nicely done!

I realize it may have been impossible due to the hedges, but next time try to get down low to take your shots, like in the crouching position. When you shoot stuff like this from a low perspective, it always adds more drama and seems to increase the speed.

Absolutely right on. As a matter of fact, any time you photograph horses, you want to shoot from a lower angle, even if the horse is standing still. Otherwise, the horse's legs look somewhat "squatty".
