Ok I finally got my nerve up to ask for feedback! One day I might even post in the critique section! Please tell me what you truly think of this photo, and advise me of ways to improve on it! Thank you! :D

Looks pretty good to me, I for one would like to see some eyes and maybe add some de-noise to reduce the grain in the photo. Also what is in the background? I could suggest playing around with coloured backgrounds. We dont have that coloured spiders here.

A subtle vignette might work for this shot (emphasis on subtle) but I didn't apply one. Since I don't have good noise reduction here at the office I just cropped your shot 4x5 and did some minor enhancements:

To be honest I can't really see the graininess in the photo you guys do.:( But my eyes are bad and I need new glasses badly, so I guess your likely right.
As for colors in the back ground, I helped to get the color that is there on purpose. I think it gives the shot a sort of dark dangerous feel, even though the spider is harmless! Lol :)

I don't have the photo shop or light room, so my adjustments are more limited! Lol :)

Thank you Moab my friend! I'm pretty happy with this shot, and even the uncropped version! :)

PS. Does it look noisy or just a slight bit of graininess? In other words, how severe is the issue?

How servers is the noise issue in your opinion my friend? I can try to be more careful in the future, but is this shot ok as is, or too noisy as is?

Beautiful shot Bill. Crisp, sharp detail. Her colors look like she's draped in the Brazilian National Flag.

Where in the heck did you find such a flamboyant subject? Nice capture. The spider with the highlight webbing and dark background is very well done.

About all I can offer is that small things need a very tight capture (1:1 just a few inches from the lens) to show detail.

Very colorful spider, makes for a great subject! I like how the background is out of focus (looks like it might have been distracting otherwise), but also agree with the vignette idea.

I feel like more of the web could be in focus to help this image, but that's my only nitpick and could be just a "me" thing. I don't usually like bug images, but this one is well done IMO.

:) I am using a macro 1:1 lens up close buddy. The Nikkor af-d 105mm micro lens. I'm just using my D800E FX Nikon and that cuts down on the size of the subject unless cropped. :)
I found her in my back yard, I believe she is an orchard spider! :)

Thank you Charlie buddy! I appreciate your feedback on a subject type that bothers you so much my friend!

The area in focus is soooooo thin in macro, it is hard to get all of the subject in focus, and I would lose some of the spider if I got more of the web at these settings. For smaller F stop to get the deeper focus area would have darkened it too much at that time.

But cool idea, and I might try different settings and such next time, to see what I can do towards that goal! :)

I'm not sure if I can add vignetting with my PP app I have for Raw photos, but I will see sometime what I can find in it that might do that! :)

Bill, here is my personal opinion. I think you went a little bit too far with saturation in order to get the color of the spider. You could have done the same for the spider but not the background.

I took your version and only played with saturation layers to remove the reddish tint of the background. Tell us what you think.

Though in your wisdom you are correct in how I got the colors where I wanted them of the spider my friend, but I actually liked the contrast of brick red background and greens of the spider. You see the background color was intentional I'm afraid, to give it a more dangous feeling despited the spider being harmless! Lol :)
But cool fix! Thank you very much for the feedback my friend! :D
