Beginner feedback

Hey everyone, I love photography like everyone here, but I only had my phone for pictures. I bought my first dslr (nikon d3300) less than a month ago and I've been learning a lot. These are two shots I took recently. I shoot manual with a Nikkor 35mm 1.8f which I like more than the kit lens.

Both are really nice shots. Love the first shot. Not sure if you added something behind you to get the catch lights or if by accident. Like the second as well. Some may say something about the rule of thirds but I think it's great the way it is. The sky, the reflections both add to the image. I think it's well balanced. Nice job.

seems ok to me though

1- underexposed a bit. composition is acceptable. a little tweak wouldve helped bt im nitpicking
2- oversaturated a bit. a lot actually. left side isnt doing it for me. too empty for interest. prefer 1/3 2/3 water sky composition. more sky would have made it more interesting. reflecting of the trees are nice and I dont know what it would look like but panning right a bit and adding the reflection might make it more interesting. not sure though.

shooting specs? lens/camera?

welcome!

Pretty much this.

The first shot looks fine to me, but I'm not much for portraits.
