Hummel Statue

Hi guys and girls, I took a quick pic of one of my wife's Hummel statues. I know it may be a little blurry (hand held instead of tripod) Hummel.jpg, but as far as the lighting and the background....what do you think? Also, what type of surface should I place the statue on if I am wanting to keep it in the photo? I had to crop out the piano (keyboard) that it was sitting on. Is there some type of statue stage or pedistol I should use for future?

The easy way is to use paper sheets from the craft store (Hobby Lobby, etc). These sheets come in diifferent sizes (various, but ballpark around 18x24 inches typically). Choose the larger ones. White is good, but it comes in all colors. Lay it on the table, and curve the rear half up approaching vertical, supported by leaning against anything standing back there behind it. This provides the floor and the rear wall for small table top scenes (does not distract). The wide curve makes that edge be invisible (called seamless).
