I really like it. The colors are well saturated and the shallow depth of field isolates the flower very well. The honey bee is just icing on the cake!

I like the shot, especially the angle.

The near edge of the flower petals is a little too blurred (for me). Backing away even just six inches and/or using a smaller aperture would increase the total DOF. If using a zoom with longer focal length, backing away and zooming in will also shift the total DOF toward the camera bringing more near stuff in focus and softening the background even more.

Good shot though.:)

Very nice shot, Mom. I really like the angle of the flower as well. I also love the bee in the shot! I too have been experimenting with flowers. On a rainy day I set up a vase and just made a background and put the camera on a tripod. I used one speed light on the camera and another to the side of the vase pointed up against the white ceiling. I was wondering what lens you used in your photo? I used a 105mm 2.8 micro with a D800 I used to have.

Thanks Mom. Doing a set-up inside is much different than being spontaneous outdoors. It's really fun and very creative to have gotten that bee in the flower....Good work!
