Okay, one nit and two not, since this is for a pro resume

nit: his tie needs to be straightened a bit -- looks a little awkward

non nit 1: he is looking just to the left of you, not at the camera and it's very distracting trying to figure out what he is seeing

non nit 2: Step a half foot to your left (preferred)or right (if you have to), so the window edge is not just cutting through his right ear

The picture as a whole is quite handsome -- he has a good face that you have captured well.

I cannot give professional critique but in my opinion it is just fine. I would like to have seen a little more light on him as I see it a little dark. Could be my monitor though.

Now that I see it I do agree about the tie and where he is looking. The window part doesn't seem to bother me though.

But I think I would either show all of or clone out the small piece of the blue ribbon on his lapel. Buttoning his jacket would have shown all of the ribbon I think.

If the picture had just been posted at random and the question was asked "Whose kid"? I'm betting the vast majority would get it right.

He definitely deserves a thank you. I agree with some earlier comments about straightening the tie and I also find the background distracting. It almost looks like the plant is scratching your sons head. :) One other thing that I noticed is that it looks like you may have over sharpened part of the picture. There is a dark border around the top of his head.

Don - Just about every nit pick were already mentioned. The image itself is very sharp.

For a job resume, I was going to suggest a plain gray background perhaps. I would also suggest to modify his posing and make it angled then turn his face towards the camera to add some interest.

Other than that, it looks good overall. I wish him luck and I hope he will get the job that he is looking for.

Don I keep meaning to ask, what do you use to create the drop shadow border? I know you can make them in Photoshop but just wondered if you had something automatic.
