Is the shallow DOF disturbing or does it add to composition?

I wanted to not distract viewer from the main subject (water droplets on the window) while giving some information on the background. Mission accomplished? No? why? Thanks Is the shallow DOF disturbing or does it add to composition?-01raining.jpgDevice: Nikon D7000Lens: 35mm f/1.8GFocal Length: 35mmFocus Mode: ManualAperture: f/5.6Shutter Speed: 1/30sExposure Mode: Aperture PriorityExposure Comp.: 0EVExposure Tuning:Metering: MatrixISO Sensitivity: Auto (ISO 360)

I'd say yes. No time to be playing outside...

    Marcel thanks, but...
    Yes, it's disturbing?
... Or yes, it heads to composition?
    :-)

It not only adds to the composition but is essential to the mood. The main thing is the rain. And that's what the shallow depth of field puts ahead of the rest.

I think the only two things that might have might have made it better is that the white area was darker and that could be done is post processing and that there were a person sitting in that chair.

You can save a lot of money by walking face-first into a spiderweb every morning instead of buying coffee.

My eye is immediately taken to the two plastic chairs. IMO, that distracts too much from the water. Maybe they could be darkened?
