Is the shallow DOF disturbing or does it add to composition?
I wanted to not distract viewer from the main subject (water droplets on the window) while giving some information on the background. Mission accomplished? No? why? Thanks

I'd say yes. No time to be playing outside...

Marcel thanks, but...
Yes, it's disturbing?
... Or yes, it heads to composition?

Re: Is the shallow DOF disturbing or does it add to composition?
It not only adds to the composition but is essential to the mood. The main thing is the rain. And that's what the shallow depth of field puts ahead of the rest.

Re: Is the shallow DOF disturbing or does it add to composition?
I think the only two things that might have might have made it better is that the white area was darker and that could be done is post processing and that there were a person sitting in that chair.

My eye is immediately taken to the two plastic chairs. IMO, that distracts too much from the water. Maybe they could be darkened?
