DESCRIPTION
I shot lots of photos, but never one of myself. So, I was alone at home and thought.... Let's try it! This is the result.

USED MATERIALS
Nikon D7000 with a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens on a Cullman tripod. A handheld Nikon SB-910 flash.
The back wall is a door with a large black towel between the door and the door frame. No need for expensive stuff.

POST-PROCESSING
Adobe Lightroom 5
Silver Efex Pro

SELF-CRITICISM
I do like the dark, grungy style of the picture. The shutter speed could be a lot quicker, but the image is still sharp enough.
The eyes are maybe a bit too dark, but I've got really dark eyes in real life also so it wouldn't be me if they were too bright.

Finally,
If you have any comments about this picture, please let me know.
Also, if you have a question, just ask! I'd be happy to help.

Best regards,
Patrick de Bie

I lack the technical knowledge for any sort of critique in that respect, but I can tell you that the shot looks fantastic. I love the mood and the lighting.

The look is great. I would agree that there is too much light on the neck/chin. Keep playing with it until you subtract from the neck/chin and add a little to the eyes.
