Shoulder camera bag

Hi folks

Finally got round to ordering an 18-70 lens as a general lens for my d200 and I'm going to get a 35mm 1.8g sometime too.

I have also been looking at shoulder bags as I don't want the obvious camera look.

Been considering a Crumpler muffin top bag. Some reviews said the 4000 is ok for an SLR with medium size zoom plus another smallish lens too. Some people say the larger 7500 bag is required. The d200 is obviously quite a large camera.

Does anyone have any ideas, I can't find a Crumpler stockist locally to try it out.

I'm a collector of camera bags ... According to my wifey....as I'm incredibly picky lol
Anyway, while not perfect, I find the Lowepro slingshot 200 the one that I use most. It doesn't allow for a tripod, but pretty much everything else works fine.

Well, I'm a big fan of Lowepro bags because of their build quality and reputation, and.........they're guaranteed for life. Can't beat that.

Thanks guys I'll have a look at them. The lowepro are good coz my wee camera is in one but the over the shoulder type are for right handed people only so think I'll need to give them a miss. Pity coz they are very nicely made.

I'll check the other makes and see what I find.

Thanks for replying.

I have a tamrac rally 5 messenger bag that I like. Room for D3100 with tamron 18-270 attached, 50 mm prime, sb700 flash, a tablet in its own compartment. Very compact and handy bag.

Think Tank makes some really nice messenger bag style camera/computer bags, check those out too.

+1 on that Rick!

I own several bags: Lowepro slingshots (100AW and 200AW), Lowepro Flipside 300, a couple of Domke F2 shooting bags (ruggedwear and sand), Crumpler (4 million dollar house) and a ThinkTank Retrospective 20.

I have to say that 90% of the time I use the ThinkTank Retrospective. For one it doesn't scream camera bag and it's very comfortable with a thick strap. It's well laid out and provides easy access to your camera. I also use it occasionally in conjunction with my BlackRapid RS Sport (BR on the left shoulder and the ThinkTank on the right shoulder).

Here is a link to the ThinkTank retrospective series: HERE Their "speed" series looks very interesting too - frankly I'd love to have all of the bags they make! LOL! Good luck.

Thanks cbgold and bluenoser

The retrospective is very nice quite expensive in uk but a well made and ideal bag I think. The tamrac is good too holds a bit more than I own just now but good for the future. I'll try and find them both in shops for a look at them.

I by chance bought a small camera case in a local camera shop who were clearing out last year bags which holds the d200 and 18-70 attached perfectly. I got it for 75% off the original price!!! It'll do me meantime until I buy another lens as its well made and padded quite well but ultimately I'll pick up a slightly larger bag too.

Thanks to everyone for their time taken to reply and advice.
