Great timing for me. My ebay bought X2 card arrives today. $10 so no great loss. I just want to play with direct connect (non-eyefi_server) mode. Wonder how they can disable ftp mode if it is a card to local wireless net connection?
I've not been able to figure out the various modes from reading their sales blurbs so time to do some hands-on with it.

My X2 eye-fi worked great yesterday to transfer from camera to PC. After the first picture transferred OK today (one day into the dead zone), the camera reports an error and will not even allow the card to be used as a plain old 4GB memory card.
Hope no one had a bunch of pics on their card awaiting download...
I think I'll keep it in a drawer for when the lawyers get me a good $2 rebate as part of the class action settlement in three or four years.
(I was impressed that the eye-fi had a magic ability to produce lat/lon where the picture was taken - and various photo apps will haul up google maps to show it)
