Is there a big difference between TTL and non?

yes, ttl is not accurate, repeatable and consistent with OCF. the camera is guessing exposure for you. manual power can be adjusted with a 560/622tx verszions and theyre REPEATABLE. ive used my 622n in ttl and it sucks azs. it has an excellent af assist beam though.
just be aware that when its on the camera, and no matter what camera youre using, it will basically bring it down to shoot at 3fps. you can also adjust power output of the OCF (supported flash models) buy doing a sequence of button pressing. which is like trying to read a foreign language for the first time. there is a mkII version to be launched soon and the canon version was just released I believe.
I feel like wired ones would be too limiting.
which wired triggers did you see? are you referring to the the old school pocket wizards models?
I would suggest you get triggers that allow you to mount a flash on it as well. 603II 622n 605 as well. they allow ttl pass through to the camera.
