Well I own the spider pro holster double and just from looking at it, your looks very much like mine! The double latching buckle is different on your belt and doesn't look as secure due to the lock switch not being the same as is on mine! The metal look very close to the same and seems great if the metals are similar and the quality control would be the only worry! But my guess is that you did good buddy, and got a very expensive piece of kit copied pretty close! :)
It does get the weight off the shoulders and puts it onto your hips, freeing up your upper body! The attachment to camera is good but not as good as the adapter attachment that clamps onto the L bracket on camera, and is bought separately! It cost another hundred bucks, so I only bought one of these, despite the fact that I have two spider pros!

Anyway great looking buy buddy! I hope it works awesome for ya my friend!:)

yes, I saw the buckle locking system is different on the SP genuine. its inset so it cant slide out of position like mine. the pic in the ebay auction looks different though than what I got. I will add an extra measure and sew a strap with velcro because its not only the camera ill be carrying but lenses in pouches as well.

metal looks nice. not sure long term. ill know how it feels in a few days though. its basically just to hold the camera. I wont be using the 2nd camera much. just for 1.5 hours. interested in how itll work with a strap attached. dont know QC. seems very well built.yes, read your post regarding the L-bracket.

I always love you positive excited attitude with your gear. reminds me of me. now im just a grouch hahaha. I should be friends with the angry photographer on youtube and complain about things that need to be changed.

Hmmm I was about to buy one of the genuine ones but held off. Will be checking out your review :).

link to the seller is in the video description. dont know the seller and just posted it to those who were interested. dont want to review something and then say, eh, dont remember who I bought it from. search on ebay and youll find it. it was not easy to find. I searched holster and looked through tons of pages.its $25 shipped. built very well.

tried it now with the D3s/28-70 ill be using it with and I chuckled how nice it works. quick in and out. comfortable. its new though and I havent tried it in the stressed world of wedidngs. but I can tell right away if a product will hold or not. I dont think the belt would hold two sets of camera with HEAVY lenses. two cameras but with two primes, yea, no issue. not that the belt wont hold but my concern is the beslt stretching/drooping. the SP genuine has a larger protective patch as well. seems a bit more padded maybe. but anything you get is better than the camera swinging around with any strap really. we dont have pads there.

So a company invests time and money to develop a killer product and someone overseas rips off the design.
I'd much rather support the original company myself. I hope it keeps your gear off the ground.

I understand your frustration. american companies having a hard time succeeding in this competitive market. the asians clone everything and sell for peanuts but your venting is directed at the wrong person. Im just a buyer. your money is yours and you can certainly support who youd like. if it was reasonably priced, the choice would clear. you should also then be frustrated with anyone here who bought a 3rd grip or battery or even flashes that are clones of canons flashes. so if the asians clone a nikon grip and people dont see it fair to pay 500% the price of an aftermarket ,or people who dont want to pay the ridiculous price for an OEM battery then you have the bitter feeling with them as well?

thanks for your concern for my gear.

Hey there :)

My comment about your gear was sincere, not sarcastic.

There is a clear difference between legit 3rd party accessories/items and out right knock-offs. Not really fair to lump them into the same category.

ok an update to the spiderpro clone holster.

Ive used it for 4 weddings so far. today the 5th.

-extremely well made. metal base that holds the camera weighs 220grams! didnt weigh the camera plate but im guessing in the 120-140 grams.

-works better with heavier 2.8 zooms for heft to pull it down and angle the downwards. with primes that are light, it doesnt stay in place as well. it wants to turn around and with the lens pointed straight instead of down. no issue with a 70-200VR mounted as well. points down and feels comfortable.

-you have to pay attention when walking around with the flash attached and with the head up.I did notice I have to have a hand on it when walking around otherwise it sways. nothing as bad as a black rapid strap though.

-very fast in and out. I need to always be aware I need to tilt the camera up a bit first.

-I ordered another set because I want another plate for the other camera as well. they dont sell a separate plate so bought another holster

-the belt it comes with is very nice. the genuine one is just a higher level in finish and look. it looks more chic. the padded area where the camera rests is larger as well.

-ive removed the base and moved it to my belt with pouches so I can carry lenses and the holster and even with all the weight its very comfortable.

-the idea of having two mounts on the left and right sounds nice but its not realistic. it makes u way too wide and youll have a hard time walking through guests.

-thought I may have an issue with the strap dangling, but no. not at all.

$25 shipped. im happy.

was at a wedding and another photog had the original. the original in the minor finish looked nicer. but I was shocked how exact the clone looks. even down to the rubber band that secures the base to the belt. worth $135? no. $80, yes.
