I like to geotag my D800E and D810 photos during my travels. I have earlier used a Gisteq geotag logger and lately Nikons own GP-1A.
Unfortunately I find the GP-1A too slow to reliably tag my photos.
I am presently using my Samsung Galaxy smart phone running the Geotag Photos Pro app to collect a GPX logfile for later integration into Lightrooms map function.
A better Nikon unit for in-camera geotagging would be very welcome. Maybe something with its own battery and continuous GPX collection like a Solmetta Geotagger Pro2-d, or better yet a vertical grip with battery and GPS.
Does anybody have any news/rumors about a new Nikon geotagger, or any other recommendations ?
