I don't have them with me, so no photos to share. I made two hiking poles / tarp poles / mono-pods using two extendable aluminum paint roller handles. Compressed they were about 5 feet. I drilled a small hole in the end where the roller frame screws on and installed a 1/4-20 stud. Used two pad frames to make hand grips to use the poles as hiking staffs. Screw off the hand grip and screw on the camera or spotting scope. At night they held up one or two corners of a fly-type shelter.
