Lowepro backpacks

Does anyone have any of the Lowepro backback range?

I have some questions about how lenses fit depth-wise. Lowe pro give internal dimensions of their backpacks, but I don't know if the depth dimension includes things like the front pockets. So if the listed internal depth of a backpack is 6.5", does that mean that I can fit a 6.5" long lens in there. In particular I'm looking at the Vertex or maybe Pro Runner ranges, but any Lowepro backpack info would be useful.

They have a great tool that allows you to select all the equipment you want to carry and then it shows you the bag that will work. Bag finder or something like that on their website.

I use use a messenger style, so can't comment the backpacks but their quality is outstanding.

i think @scottmurray just posted about his recently, so search for post by him. Just make sure it has a rain cover. I laughed at first about that at first till I got stuck in a unexpected storm one day and was glad I had it.

Thanks for your reply Kevin

I think that pretty well all the Lowepro backpacks have rain covers, or at least all the ones I have checked. The bag finder is not that much help, it does not give a good range of lens sizes & does not show in which way it has calculated the kit to fit.

I will check Scott's posts.

Update: Scott has the Dryzone. It's a good backback that is both waterproof & can float when fully loaded. I can see that would suit Scott's enthusiasm for topless showers, but I don't think I need that level of waterproofing.

Gotcha, not sure the price you are looking for but his runs 250.00 if I remember correctly.

Thanks, it's to protect expensive kit, so I don't mind the cost as long as it suits what I need. As Scott does have the bag, I will ask him about the sizes, thanks.

Regarding size, I can fit my D800E with attached 150-600 plus my D600, my 70-200f/2.8 my 85mm, my 50mm, my batteries umm and all sorts of other things in my dryzone, I will lay it all out when I can and show you. But none of my lenses attached takes up the whole case if that helps.

I don't think I need to see a shot of the bag, but an idea of the depth measurement front to back would be very useful.

Hmmm ok I very rarely measure things but tomorrow I will measure up my bag and will reply here. but if you can imagine a D800E Gripped will fit nicely along with the 150-600 or 70-200 with space then there you go. But if you need measurements ok I can do that but not tonight/morning as I have a date with chrystal and bikinis and water...

Thanks Scott

Here's the only measurement I need:

The inside of the bag measurement where the purple line is. This would give me what length lens I can stand upright in the dividers rather than laying them flat.

I suppose my specific question is can I sit a lens of 5" in the bag.

Enjoy the bikini!

If it does state internal measurement then it should be accurate. But, I feel your pain. I've bought at least 6 bags before I finally got what I need for now. Now, I have two top load bags, and a back pack to get rid of!

I've got a Lowepro Compu Trecker Plus AW. The dimension you ask about is 15cm. Holds my camera with 24-120 attached plus 8 other lenses a flash and SU800 plus a lot of smaller stuff - filters, cards, etc.
Only issue is one of the seams has separated a little. I bought it offshore not sure how I go about claiming for the "lifetime warranty"

The 24-120mm is just the lens that I hope to have as my regular walkabout. The rest of your case sounds a little large for me, but it is useful to know how much you can fit in there. I would also be getting an SU800.

Actually, the one pack I didn't like is the one I'm grown fond of and keeps all my gear. The lowepro 302AW. It holds all my lenses standing up in the compartments with no issues.

That's just the sort of size that I want, except I prefer a full backpack, not a slingshot. Which lens do you have on the body in your photo?
