A Strong Stand

Howdy!

I am looking to purchase a light stand for my Nikon SB910 and umbrellas. What would you all recommend I purchase? I sold what I had to a deserving photography student.

Would I be better off purchasing a background set? If so, what is a good one to invest in?

O'k i'm confused. You need a light stand for the speedlight. If getting a background set and using it as a background, you still need a lightstand for the speedlight. Or am I missing something? Lol. Anyway, I have a Photoflex backdrop kit with pretty good stands. I also have a Photoflex Reflector holder and boom arm that to me is pretty good in quality. I also have a few Mathews C-stands that blow everything else away as far as durability. Anything I buy in the future will be a C-stand. The weight of a C-stand is much more than your typical lightstand and weight plays a pretty important role. They simply outperform all other stands I have hands down. They are probably 2-3 times as much. But to me they will outlast the others by years.

I apologize. I was trying to ask if I should buy a lightstand or get a background kit instead. What made you buy the photoflex kit? Where can I get one?

Do the Mathews C-stands have a kit?

I got the photoflex because I have a few of their lightbox's and like the quality of them. Their not the cheapest and not the most expensive plus the reviews where pretty good.
I purchased them through either Adorama or B&H. The C-stands I got through either can't remember. Yes they do come as a kit. But most people I know buy individual pieces.
Like I got a C-stand and also got a boom arm with it as a kit. And later got another C-stand by it's self. I'm sure you can find them anywhere but I deal with Adorama or B&H.
Mathews and Avenger are the two top names, but there are others but not sure about quality.
