My Brother Borrowed My Camera

Man! I am Jonesin' (suffering from withdrawal) BAD!

My brother, his wife, and their youngest son are away for 9 days on the Boy Scout Band tour, going as far as Montana, I believe.
I just sold my motorcycle, so I finally had the money to get a UV filter, and a couple of 32 gig cards at my local store.

I also picked up a semi-soft case.

We didn't have much time to go over the controls, so I showed him Auto, no-flash, and video mode.
And I turned off back button focus...

I'll be checking into a methadone clinic before weeks end, I think! :)

I will never loan mine out again, unless I have a 2nd.
I feel like I have had a limb amputated.
My pocket camera isn't making the grade (photos for a Craigslist ad), and the camera on my phone? Please, don't make me laugh.

I hear you, and I'm sympathetic, and I still stand by my previous advice! ;)

The question is, who is going to edit the pictures when your brother gets home!
Might take you a while if you have a hundred+ shots to get through.

I think my wife is more protective of my camera than I am - she gets very nervous when I let my son use it, and he's a very responsible young man.

Don, it won't be long before she starts Jonesing for your D750 to be her "Big Girl Camera". What are you going to do then?

She knows that she only gets my hand-me-downs so she will have a long wait before I am ready to get rid of my D750. She does eye my Tamron 150-600 once in a while though. I let her shoot it a little bit though.

You are a brave man. I do not think I could do that. Loaning out my camera would be comparable to loaning out my motorcycle years ago...

Not my responsibility. There are a couple of other scouts on the trip with laptops. The are dumping the pictures as they go.

He is my brother, and is letting me live in his rental house rent free until I find a job. We are in a cooperative relationship right now.
And this house is in a better neighborhood, has central air, and nice carpet. Then there is the in-ground hot tub in the backyard. My nephew built it a few years ago when he lived here.

And other than unforeseen accidents, my brother is a pretty dependable guy .

So, you've loaned him the camera and he more-or-less loaned you a place to live? I could live with that if I were you. It sounds like the two of you have a good relationship. For that, you are both blessed!

I obviously know the value of a nice camera, as well as the trip of a decade (rather than lifetime).

These Scout Band tours happen every once in a while, I'm not sure what their out-of-pocket expense is, but I am sure it is cheaper than doing the trip on your own.
I am happy to help him out.

However, I did just see the most beautiful wildflower in my back yard, but there are some unopened buds, so hopefully they will still be around next Monday!

I have an extra copy of a few books that I like to lend out.*
I suppose I could apply the same philosophy to my camera! :)
I could probably pick up a D3300 body cheap.

*The House of a Thousand Candles
The Real Frank Zappa Book
The I Chong (yes, correct spelling )
