possible to edit images on 7-8" tablet-need to use mouse and memory card reader

I have a laptop I take with me to weddings. after the BG location shoot we do for them and when I get to the venue, but before the guests and family arrive, I have around 30-40 minutes that I need to edit 30-40 images as the venues usually have big screens and the BG ask for a slideshow for the guests. editing doesnt take long. but going through the memory card to select the images to edit and transfer takes some time. I have a laptop. and older one. more than enough for that. but its big and bulky. its a desktop replacement. im thinking about getting a tablet to this. basically simple editing like highlight/midtone/shadow adjustment, crop, sharpen, exposure, BW. just simple editing I need to fine tune the image. I dont think the table would have an issue editing images from a D3 D3S in jpeg. we never shoot raw so images are 5-8mb. but my inquiry is whether its possible to use a mouse and a memory card reader(can be connected to upload the images to the tablet then taken out) but a mouse would definitely be nice to use instead of fingers on screen. a few said they use the USB charging port as regular port with a simple mini usb to usb adapter. trying to get people experience. cheers

I've done some editing on my Xoom tablet using the Photoshop touch app. But I've only imported them strait from the camera through a camera USB cord and an adapter for my Xoom.
But I rarely shoot jpg anymore, and my tablet won't recognize Raw files nor import them.

I would think a Bluetooth mouse would fit the bill for you, and just about any tablet worth it's salt should play nice with Bluetooth. The other end of the equation is software but that will depend the OS your tablet runs. Still, this all sounds pretty do-able.

scratching the idea of the nvidia shield tab.

actually considering this
Quantum View Windows® 8.1 10.1″ Tablet | Azulle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGp5di5nrWI

$240. 40 more than the shield comes with 10" (instead of 8") 32gb FHD usb ports and a KB. full windows which is great so I dont have to run around finding apps to run on my tablet.
I can run nero, acdsee pro, and proshow producer and connect an external usb burner to give it to the venue to run on the screens.
I dont have a BT mouse and with usb ports I can save myself from spending more than I want for this specifically.

That's a nice solution right there... Comes with the KB, and has nice spec's. I was going to suggest something Windows-based for this if for no other reason than the availability of software so yeah, this gets my vote. Also, should you decide you do want a BT mouse, they're only about $20 or $30 for a decent one. Just sayin'...
