Restored an old Bass Drum

And now for something completely different. I picked up this drum probably 15 years ago now. My high school was throwing stuff out, and I said I would take it. It was later used in the school play, hence the "Mission Band" on the head.

Wow, very nicely done! One question; why didn't you use a wood veneer over the mahogany instead of restoring the old wood? It would have been much less work...

Ugg, yeah I know. I almost went that route after I just about sanded off the mahogany in a couple places. It was really stained from the glue. The motivation was not spending more on veneer and maintaining the original mahogany. :)
